Where did you get the name Bare Basin Body Care?
Having gone through a 'rebrand' at the end of 2022 after a personal career change, Bare Basin Body Care, LLC was created! I kept thinking that simple is best and one day after driving by a local plant nursery, the name popped into my head! What better names to merge than 'Bare' and 'Basin,' as these are perfect descriptors for the company's foundation, focusing on the most basic essentials needed for the highest quality skincare.
What happened to the original name 'Whisky Mountain Soap Co'?
Whisky Mountain Soap Co.'s name originally came from an association with distillation. Having retired (for the time being) from the distillation world in 2022, Whisky Mountain Soap Co. underwent a rebranding!
I still wanted to carry my products forward, many of which do not contain whisky, and figured what better time than an opportunity where my career path changed.
Bare Basin Body Care, LLC was born and many new ideas and principles with it!
Our mission & focus
Bare Basin Body Care, LLC strives to offer customers quality bath care products at an affordable price, while also providing friendly and efficient customer service. So many bath products on the market are made with truly harsh chemicals or toxins meant to strip down the natural oils of your body. Bare Basin Body Care, LLC never uses fillers or unnatural colorants. Many of our products do contain fragrances because of their popularity, however; products made using only essential oils are listed as so in their descriptions. All products are tested for their safety prior to being available for sale and we are transparent about any ingredient used during our processes.
We are also greatly aware of the efforts against plastics and continue to change packaging and operations to cut down on their use.
When will my order arrive? Does everyone get free shipping?
All orders are processed within 1 to 4 business days (excluding weekends, holidays, or special circumstances) after receiving your order confirmation email.
Orders ship on Tuesdays and Fridays, unless specialty shipping is ordered.
You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. If you have any questions about the shipping process or are experiencing an issue, please contact us at barebasinbodycare@gmail.com.
Due to a seeming everlasting change from the worldwide pandemic, you will likely experience shipping delays. Domestic shipments take between 2-14 business days and international shipments take between 2-12 weeks to arrive but can take longer depending on your postal service.
Currently, and unfortunately, Hawaii is excluded from the free shipping promotion.
There is colorant on my hands from the bath treats. What do I do?
Not to worry! Sometimes the mica colorants purchased for Nurture Soap can temporarily leave a color residue on the skin (especially darker colors like red, blue, or purple). The residue can we washed off in no time, and don't forget that our products are made with ingredients that are natural, phthalate free, plant-based, and deemed 'reef safe,' which includes colorants.

My soap has white stuff and/or specks of things. What are they?
Great question and not to worry. The white powder is what we call "soda ash" and forms as a result of lye in the fresh soap reacting with carbon dioxide in the air. Many of our soaps are not covered once poured, resulting in a more 'natural' finish. The soap is entirely safe to use.
Any specks, discolorations, or natural topping are likely attributed to herbs used in the studio. We use herbs such as calendula, rose petals, thyme, mint leaves, chamomile, and sage.
Any glitter or bright color is from the use of Nurture Soap colorants. Their colorants/enviroglitter are natural and consist of mica, titanium dioxide, and iron oxide.
Is your soap septic safe?
To our research and knowledge, yes. What makes bath products NOT septic safe are ingredients like quaternary ammonium compounds (strong detergents) or anything toxic by health standards. All products made are done so with ingredients that are natural, phthalate free, plant-based, or deemed 'reef safe,' which includes colorants.

The outside of the soap seems to be a different color than the inside - what happened?
Commonly known as a partial-gel, the newly molded soap cures and cools at differing temperatures causing the color tones and textures. It is still safe to use and does not deter from the soaps overall quality.
Where do you make everything?
In a small studio about 20 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park. We're at the top of the watershed!

As a goal, Bare Basin Body Care, LLC works towards supporting fair-trade, organic, local, and natural ingredients. Do you use plastic?
Yes we currently use plastic, mainly for lip balm. But! Being a plastic-free company is in the works and planned for by 2025. Most products will be packaged in paper or aluminum, both of which can be recycled. The ultimate goal is to have printed packaging and use recycled materials for shipping.
Are you organic or vegan?
Organic - not entirely. Many of the oils, fats, and herbs I source are organic but I can't make a claim yet to be 100% organic.
Vegan - only for special, planned products. Please let me know if a vegan soap or other product would be of interest to you!
